Diary Log - 12th January

Over the past month, I have been working on my final edit of my short film, which included putting all of the clips together as well as the sound. To do this, I have been using Adobe Premier Pro CS6, as it allows video and sound to be easily added and rearranged, as well as a variety of effects and transitions to be used.

I have also been using Adobe After Effects CS6 to edit some of the footage that I filmed, which involves adding various effects over the top of the footage, and then putting that into the edit. Through a variety of tutorials, as well as what I learnt from last year, I have been able to add effects that are relatively professional in quality.

For example, I have added various symbols on top of the phone when the character presses buttons, using 'Screen' mode to make them slightly transparent and adding a glow to give it a holographic look.

As I have almost finished my edit, I have begun to conduct extensive research into magazine film reviews and film posters, and have begun to plan the various aspects of them, such as initial ideas, conventions I will use and flat plans. The research has given me a better idea of what my tasks should include in order to bring them closer to industry quality. In the coming weeks, I will finish my main edit, as well as produce my magazine film review and poster.
