I am doing this task in order to conduct research into my target audience. This way, I can identify what appeals to them and incorporate these in my magazine film review in order to further attract them.
1. What is your age?
The majority of the responses were from people aged 13 to 17. As this is my target audience, I will be sure to focus upon their choices, and try to included them in my magazine to further appeal to them.
2. What is your gender?
The majority of responses were from males, my target audience, so I will be sure to take focus upon their answers, so that I may better appeal to them.
3. Do you have a favourite film magazine? If so, which one and why?
The majority of respondents said that they didn't have a favourite film magazine. Those who did said Screen or Empire, because of elements like a description of the plot or that it is easy to understand. The majority of those who responded with a favoured magazine were female, meaning that including these elements will further allow me to appeal to a larger range of people beyond my target audience.
4. What would you want to see in a magazine film review?
The most voted for options were images, positives and negatives of the film, and a star rating, so I will be sure to include them in order to appeal to my target audience. The other elements that people chose, such as the bold title and a description of the plot, will also be included to appeal to my target audience, but will not be as prioritized.
5. Would you prefer an informal or formal magazine review?
The majority of the respondents voted for both. This means that I will use a combination of formal and informal elements within my magazine review in order to appeal further to my target audience.
6. What would you not want to see in a magazine film review?
From the responses, the most common were that they didn't want a messy and crammed page, and for the review not to be boring, I will be sure to take into account each response when creating the review page, so that I do not deter my target audience.
